WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF CAMERA MUNDI!
Back in 1974 a group of educators in the area of Educational Technology dreamed about producing educational media for our children. They joined to create Camera Mundi, Inc. Our name comes from the first syllable of the names of these dreamers: CA (Calero), ME (Mendez), RA (Ramos), MUN (Muñiz) and DI (Díaz). Our logo shows a photographer of that era. Now it shows the many years of experience, tenacity and flawless service to education.
We started offering the Early Childhood sector a collection of prints on different topics: Flowers from Puerto Rico, Fruits of Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican Folkloric Games, Typical Food of Puerto Rico, Our Children's Activities, Our Public Servers, A Visit to the Dentist, among others, and even our first short film/documentary titled "La Candelaria". Later, under the leadership of Prof. Jorge Díaz Bonilla and his wife, Prof. Ada Rivera, we added prestigious partners such as Lakeshore Learning and Community Playthings and continued providing the best educational products and services.
In 1990 Camera Mundi (CMI) started building furniture for the early childhood sector. With time, we added to our portfolio the best lines of educational and institutional furniture and other custom products such as shelving units of all sizes and other pieces specifically for libraries. Today we have a state of the art furniture manufacturing plant offering services to both educational institutions and general contractors.
In 1992, ​CMI started providing turn key educational technology solutions with the creation of our High Tech Division. In 2010 we added the Assistive Technology and Rehab Division, the Health Simulation Division and MEDIAPRO, our Media Integration Division, and in 2011 our Professional Development Division, specialized in the Early Childhood sector.
Today, our strategically located 100,000 square foot facility comprises 6 training rooms, warehouse and fulfillment center, service and repair center, furniture factory, administrative offices and a 10,000 sq. ft. store where you will find a wide variety of educational resources such as: manipulatives and supplementary materials, educational toys, books, educational technology products in all forms, CDs, DVDs, videos, science and technology kits and other resources to enhance the learning experience.
